... it isn't on the main road, Highway 6, but on the old Ymir - Porto Rico Road, which parallels the highway from Ymir to Porto Rico. The Ymir - Porto Rico Road crosses the Salmo River here, less than a kilometre north of Ymir, runs up the east side of the river, then recrosses the river and rejoins the highway at Porto Rico.
This bridge is about a 75 foot steel girder bridge, probably from the '40s or '50s, with a wood plank deck. The deck is showing its age and will soon need replacing. Overall, the bridge is in good shape, though.
