This impressive statue of the Virgin Mary is located on the Dionysiusplatz in Essen-Borbeck. It decorates the eastern wall of St. Dionysius church.
It was built 1911 to the 50th anniversary of the Knappen-Verein Borbeck.
It is a replica of the original grotto at Lourdes.
