Julian Villarubi was born in Leeds in 1964. He was educated at the University of Newcastle and the Royal Academy Schools in London. He has had one man exhibitions in Yorkshire, Sussex, Cumbria, London and Catalunia. He has received several awards including the Hatton Gallery Award, Celia Walker Prize. He has had several commissions from the National Trust Foundation for Art.
