I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey benchmark from most likely 1905 or 1908 (based off other USGS BMs I've recovered from those years in the vicinity) in good condition although there's a piece of the disk that has been pried off. This disk is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4091'. The NGS datasheet info is adequate for station recovery. My more accurate coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 12.3 MI SE FROM DORRIS. 9.7 MILES SOUTHEAST ALONG A GRADED ROAD FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD STATION AT DORRIS, THENCE 2.6 MILES EAST ALONG A GRADED ROAD, ON THE OUTSIDE OF A CURVE AT THE SUMMIT OF A GRADE, IN THE APPROXIMATE CENTER OF A 12- BY 8-FOOT BOULDER PROJECTING 4 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, 380 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 275 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE SUMMIT OF A SMALL ROCKY KNOLL, 50 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE EDGE OF THE BOTTOM LAND, AND ABOUT 20 FEET LOWER THAN THE ROAD. NOTE-- A SMALL PIECE OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE DISK IS BROKEN OFF BUT BENCH MARK IS STABLE.
