One for the bucket list, is to sample the local brew in a local public house. The Plume of Feathers. public house is the oldest in the village
Other points of interest in the village include the prison museum and the churchyard which includes the graves of French and American prisoners of war who were housed at the prison.

As a consequence There are several places around the world which has the same name, or derivative of:- Princetown Australia, Princeton America, Princetown Jamaica ALL possibly named after either incarceration, transported convicts or explorer.

The Church of St Michael has the distinction of being the only one in England constructed by Prisoners of War and is dedicated, as are many churches in high locations, to St. Michael.
