In Medfield, off Hartford Street, is Rocky Woods Reservation, which is maintained by The Trustees of Reservations (TTOR).

The Reservation entrance is off Hartford Street, which meets Mass. Route 109 at both ends of the road. The easiest way is to go onto Hartford Street near the Medfield-Dover town line, near a nursery. The parking lot is on the north side of the road. Across the street from the entrance is another TTOR site, Fork Factory Reservation.

The parking lot meter is by the small booth at the entrance. Nearby is a kiosk where you may find maps. I suggested that you print a map from the web site to ensure you have one as there are several loops and it isn't hard to get turned around. Recommended places to hike to include Cedar Hill, which provides the only unobstructed scenic view to the west, walking along Chickering Pond, and walking on the bridge over Echo Pond. Echo Pond was where we saw frogs in all stages of maturity from fore-limbed only tadpoles to full adults. Painted turtles also were visible around the pond.

Dogs are allowed, but only if they are pre-registered and have a license in the TTOR Green Dog program. There are trails were leashes are required. See the web site for details.
