The plaque says, "In honor of the men who lost their lived fighting the Inaja Forest Fire on November 25, 1956." The rest of the plaque has the names of each person who died trying to fight the fire.
The plaque is located in a concrete monument at a scenic overlook pull off area on the way to Julian in Santa Ysabel. It honors the firefighters who were killed trying to save homes and lives in November of 1956.
