Old Truck on Mt Bruce, Saltspring Island

Along the climb to the summit of Mt Bruce on Saltspring Island we came across an old dead vehicle, the body of an red truck, The location was just outside the gate for the Mill Farm Park Reserve, along an old logging road half way up Mt Bruce

The make model and year of this old truck could not be determined. The square chassis, shape of the fenders and limited instrument panel indicated a date around WWII. This was before the times of this group of old guys. One door and fender still showed the red colour of the truck body.
Mt Bruce, at 706 m , 2340 ft is the highest summit in the Gulf Islands and Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island. The views from the summit are spectacular. The track log for the hike is here. (
