You can visit this waymark at the entrance to the park without paying the entrance fee. However, this is a beautiful park that has so much to offer and it is well worth the time and cost to enter the park.

This was our first time visiting Waterton Lakes National Park and enjoyed every minute.

This is the only park in the world that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an International Peace Park, the first in the world, and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Waterton Lakes National Park was set aside as a Dominion Forest Park on May 30, 1895. In 1932 Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta and Glacier National Park together became the two halves of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.

While in the park you can visit the Prince of Wales Hotel that opened July 25, 1927, and has become one of the most photographed hotels in North America.
