EN: The Saint Nicholas chapel stands on the ridge of the castle hill west of the old town of Baden. In the Middle Ages it was the court chapel of Stein Castle and is the only building that has survived the two destructions of the castle in 1415 and 1712 unscathed. The chapel was first mentioned in 1346, but was probably already there around the year 1200.
The chapel is a simple building of 11 to 5.5 meters. There is a bell-gable above the entrance on the west wall.
DE: Die Sankt-Nikolaus-Kapelle steht am Grat des Schlossbergs westlich von Badens Altstadt. Im Mittelalter war sie die Hofkapelle der Burg Stein und ist das einzige Gebäude, das die beiden Zerstörungen der Burg 1415 und 1712 unbeschadet überstanden hat. Die Kapelle wurde urkundlich 1346 erstmals erwähnt, bestand aber vermutlich schon um das Jahr 1200.
Die Kapelle ist ein einfaches Gebäude von 11 auf 5.5 Metern. Über dem Eingang an der Westwand befindet sich ein Glockenträger.
