The flag of Habsburg (the village, not the royal family) depicts the castle that gave name to the world famous royal dynasty that originates from here.
The flag was chosen in 1821. Unlike many other municipalities and other geographic entities that have a reference to former rulers the municipality of Habsburg did not chose the emblem of the Habsburg dynasty, the red lion, but a much more unique symbol: the castle itself, that is quite realistic as seen from the farmland south of the village.
I found this flag on the main street of Habsburg, between the bus stop and the town hall.
