Benchmark set by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1942. The benchmark is located off F.S. Rd. 4660, along the trace of an early road from Odell Lake to Elk Lake (replaced by today’s Cascade Lakes Hwy).

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 13.1 MI N FROM CRESCENT LAKE. ABOUT 13.1 MILES NORTH ALONG THE ELK LAKE ROAD FROM THE RAILROAD STATION AT CRESCENT LAKE, KLAMATH COUNTY, 2.8 MILES NORTHEAST OF DAVIS LAKE RANGER STATION, 187.0 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH END OF A WOODEN BRIDGE OVER MOORE CREEK, 33.0 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, PROJECTING ABOUT 8-INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND, 2.0 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WHITE REFERENCE POST.
This description is out of date but the location is shown on the USGS Davis Mountain quadrangle. The benchmark can be reached from the junction of the Cascade Lakes Hwy. and F.S. Rd. 4660. From the junction go southwest on F.S. Rd. 4660 for about 3 miles and then south on F.S. Rd. 4660096 for 0.10 miles to its end and park. Hike south along the old historic road trace for about 0.60 miles to the location of PB0510 which is about 190 feet north of the old road crossing of Moore Creek. The concrete monument has been broken off and lies about 30 feet west of the road trace.
