As America's Highway system improved people traveled less by train and more in automobiles. Roads like route 66 helped bring the end of an era for rail travel. Just a few blocks from old Route 66 is the St. James MO Train Depot - The first Frisco train arrived in St. James on July 4, 1860. This train depot has recently been restored.
