In Plymouth, on top of the Boyd Science Center, is the Plymouth State Weather Center, which includes an operating weather station on the roof.

The station is located off Highland Street. It is visible from this street, and there is a drive by the building where you can see it more closely. Parking is available in lots not right at the building.

Visible from the street, there is a Hazen shelter (typically a wooden box that has slats for vents, containing a thermometer and other instruments). Also visible is a weather vane and anemometer. Conditions reported on their web site include barometric pressure, dewpoint, and relative humidity.

Plymouth State's Department of Atmospheric Science and Chemistry offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in meteorology. Graduates have found jobs as weather researchers as well as staff on radio and television news programs.

The web site has a lot of weather related data presented, including surface, satellite, and other data from many sources. One of the pages shows Plymouth data in graphs for the past 24 hours.
