The Congregational Church at Slaterville is an excellent example of the simple but impressive structures to be seen in countless New England villages. (pg 234)
This route enters Slatersville on School Street, which passes the Village Green (R), a very attractive spot. On one side the Congregational Church, facing south, and overlooking the buildings of the Finishing Company in a hollow to the left. (pg 377)
Rhode Island, a Guide to the Smallest State, 1937
Built in 1838 by the mill owners, if is a stately Greek Revival building. The entrances are set within a colossal tetrastyle Doric portico with a 2 stage belfry and octagonal spire.
