Amaryllis is an 11.25' by 10.67' by 128 x 7.5' and 4905lb painted steel abstract sculpture created by Tony Smith in 1965, acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY in 1986 and the Wadsworth Atheneum in 2012,

Tony Smith was a professional architect before becoming an abstract sculptor. His Minimalist style was to manipulate geometric solids into pleasing arrangements and then scaling them up into large sculptures. Amaryllis is formed by joining two forms that start out as a horizontal and vertical trapezoidal prisms which are joined at their ends.

A sign in front of the sculpture is inscribed:
