"320 Main Street (Contributing)
320 Main Street was constructed c. 1910 and held a barber shop. The building is a two-story brick commercial property with a flat roof. The lower façade storefront was updated c. 1980 with glass and aluminum commercial style windows and doors. There are two entries on the lower façade, both of which are set within the southern half of the elevation. Below the windows (lower level) is scored concrete that mimics a laid brick pattern. Above the windows/doors is a canvas
awning that bears the name of the business establishment using the building. Upper story windows retain original brick arches and concrete sills. A decorative cast iron band is visible on the upper façade near the roofline. Metal coping caps the elevation walls." ~ NRHP Nomination From
"The building appears older than 1910; but based on Sanborn maps, the associated lot was vacant during the years 1895 – 1902. This was probably due to a major fire that occurred in 1888 along the east side of Main Street. Apparently the building held a barbershop in 1913.
"The building is a two-story brick commercial property with a flat roof. The lower façade storefront has been updated (c. 1980) with glass
and aluminum commercial style windows and doors. There are two entries at the façade, both of which are set within the southern half of the elevation. Below the windows (lower level) is scored concrete that mimics a laid brick pattern. Above the windows/doors is a canvas awning that bears the name of the present tenant/owner. Upper story windows retain original brick arches and concrete sills, though the lights themselves have been replaced in recent decades. A decorative cast iron band is noted at the façade near the roofline. Metal coping caps the elevation walls (near the roof)
"The building is located on the east side of Main Street in downtown Troy. A concrete sidewalk fronts the property at the primary (west)
elevation. Offsetting the property to the north is a two-story commercial building. A one-story commercial building is attached to the property’s south wall." ~ Troy Historic Survey page 145
