In Keene, within the main portion of Woodland Cemetery, is this broken column monument for John Q. Wheeler, who lived only 23 years.
The cemetery has several entrances. The closest is off Beaver Street. The monument is with several monuments in the Wheeler family plot.
The monument is about 7 ft tall and made out of a light stone material. It is integrated with the stairs and other borders along the driveway. The text is as follows:
"John Q. Wheeler
Died
March 14, 1864
AE. 23
--
We loved him"
I haven't found any other information about him. He would have been the right age to have gone off to the U.S. Civil War, but there is no indication that he was a veteran.
