What used to be the Olean Public Library located at 116 S. Union St. was built in 1909 and is now housing a restaurant. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
The architect was Edward L. Tilton and it is from a Beaux Arts architectural style.
Frieze art can be found mainly over the main entrance but also at different levels of the facade. Some sculpted books remind visitors that a library was occupying the building when it was built.
