This is one old well. The property pre-dates the American Revolutionary War. The owner was a patriot and member of the state government.

The well still has water available but not sure of quality. Wells of the depth that were dug at this time period a subject ground water contamination from many sources. There is a drop bucket on the top cover. It is connected to a rope spooled on a winch for retrieving bucket of water.
