The Eagle public house probably was associted with the Eagle Brewery that was located in Tarrant Street and the sculptures of the two eagles on the front of the pub may have come from there.
The sign hangs over Tarrant Street from the north west face of the pub. Along the bottom edge of the sign is the pub's name - "The Eagle". Above is a picture of an eagle with wings and tail feather fully spread arriving at its nest with a worm(?) in its beak. Two baby eagles are waiting in the nest to be fed.
