The person: [From a plaque on the building] "This building was named for Albert N. Francisco (1821-1867) who gave up printing to join the search for gold, but pursuit of ideas drew him back to the typecase. At this site on July 1, 1854, he began publication of the Union Democrat which by his spirit survived to become one of California’s oldest newspapers."
The building: The building is located in downtown, across from the county courthouse. The building is three stories tall and on a slopped street. The facade is a mix of glass and light colored bricks, with right angle edges. The floors seem to have outside walking areas.
