In Windsor, about a mile south west of the center is Ascutney State Park, which has a campground with tent/rv and lean-to facilities.
The state park is located along Vermont Route 44A. From I-93, take the exit for Vermont Route 131/US 5. Head east to the intersection with US 5, then travel north to a fork in the road. Bear left onto Vermont 44A and travel about 1 mile to the entrance on the left. The ranger station at the entrance is where you register and get directions to the site.
There are 39 Tent/RV sites and 10 lean-tos in two areas. There is a fire pit at each site. There are no electrical hook ups. All sites are accessible by automobile. There is a bathroom facility in each area. A coin-operated shower is there which provides acceptably warm water. Water is available in faucets near sites. There is a place to get wood for a fee.
