At the east end of Main Street Ada, at the entrance to the East Central University, stand two large stone pillars approximately four feet square and ten feet high. On each of the pillars is a recessed arched inset on which is engraved:

Erected . in
Honor . of
Our . Heroes
Who . Served
In . the
World . War
1917 - 1918
No further dedication dates are shown, however, the University was established in 1909 and it is possible that this memorial was erected shortly after the completion of World War I. The memorial date would have been before World War II in 1941, as this memorial assumes "The World War" was the only one. Sad.
