EN: "Per pale Argent and Gules, two Lions rampant respectant counterchanged." (Flags of the World)

I could not find any information about this flag, neither origin nor meaning. But it seems to originate from the Middle Ages.

I found the flag together with the flags of the canton of Valais and Switzerland on the northwest corner of the square between the church, the town hall and the district court.
