The ashlar well, easily missed in the crush of tourists, is located along the wall of a passageway to the Raven cage area at the Inner Yard of the Tower of London.
Blasterz have not been able to find any information online about the date of this well's digging, but given its location and use, we suspect it dates from Tudor times.
This well is now safely secured and a small plaque nearby reads as follows:
"ASHLAR WELL
The Ashlar lined well was opened to view in 1969. It originally served the area of the Royal Apartments."
