Located at Union Creek is the Union Creek Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It comprises 56 contributing buildings and structures and nine non-contributing buildings/structures. The majority of the District is centered around a large group of buildings that were erected from 1933-1942 by the North Umpqua Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp. Most of these buildings have been preserved and only slightly modified from their original use and function. This Historic District now serves as a lodge and resort and campground and is a popular tourist destination for visitors who often pass through here on their way to Crater Lake National Park.
