The McDonald's Kinderhilfe Foundation has built the Charity House on the grounds of the Asklepios Children's Clinic. The clinic is a special clinic for children and adolescents. Part of the clinic is the German Children's Heart Center Sankt Augustin (German: Deutsches Kinderherzzentrum Sankt Augustin), which is specialized in children with heart defects.

The Ronald McDonald House provides space and a home for families whose hospitalized children are in the process of receiving medical treatment. The parental home offers 24 apartments as well as a welcoming common area with a fully equipped kitchen, a games room, library, TV corner and a room for silence. The house is funded mainly by donations.
