DE: 20.05.2012 BONN. Auf diesen Samstag haben Philipp Nehren und seine Mitstreiter vom "Subculture"-Verein seit mehr als zwei Jahren hin gefiebert. Endlich konnte die langersehnte, neue Halfpipe in der Rheinaue feierlich eingeweiht werden.
Seit 2010 hat sich Nehren mit seinen Vereinskollegen, allesamt Hobby-Sportler, unermüdlich für eine neue Halfpipe eingesetzt, nach dem die alte abgerissen werden musste.
70.000 Euro hat die neue Halfpipe, die zu den größten Outdoor-Halfpipes Europas gehört, gekostet. Rund 10.000 Euro konnte der Verein mühevoll durch ihre ins Leben gerufene Initiative "Rettet die Rampe" mit Konzerten, Sportevents und dem Verkauf von Retter-Shirts einnehmen. Die fehlenden Mittel stammen von der Stiftung Jugendhilfe der Sparkasse in Bonn. "Wir fördern vor allem Projekte, die nachhaltig sind. Das Tolle an der Halfpipe ist ihr hoher Integrationsfaktor", sagte Willi Breuers, stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Kuratoriums der Stiftung Jugendhilfe.
Zur feierlichen Eröffnung boten die Initiatoren ein großes Familienfest. Fans vom Skate- und BMX-Sport jeden Alters kamen in die Rheinaue, um nach Jahren der Entbehrung wieder waghalsige und atemberaubende Sprünge und Tricks zu sehen. Dabei zeigten auf der "Rampe" nicht nur Amateure ihr Können, sondern auch einige Profis. Unter ihnen beispielsweise Renton Miller, Profi-Skater aus Australien, der in Bonn einen Zwischenstopp auf seiner Europatournee einlegte. Mit Barbecue, kühlen Getränken und Live-Musik von "Steal A Taxi", "The Dirty Sanchez" und "Nerd School" wurde den vielen Besuchern ein buntes Programm geboten.
Bei allen war die Freude über die neue Halfpipe groß. "Boah, ist die geil geworden", entfuhr es einem jungen Skater, der die neue Skater-Sportstätte zum ersten Mal sah. "Es waren zwei sehr harte Jahre, verbunden mit viel Arbeit, viel Klinkenputzen und zahllosen schlaflosen Nächten", bilanzierte Philipp Nehren die Aktion "Rettet die Rampe".
"Für die Jugend haben wir das aber gerne getan", so der Initiator. Im letzten November starteten die Aufbauarbeiten, die von den Vereinsmitgliedern selbst durchgeführt wurden. Nehren verriet, dass es sich bei der Rampe um eine Segmentbauweise handeln würde. "Kommt unser Verein an Geld, können wir die Rampe beliebig baulich verändern und erweitern", so Nehren.
Oberbürgermeister Jürgen Nimptsch zeigte sich von der neuen Halfpipe begeistert: "Sie ist großartig! Da kann man sich nur bei allen bedanken, die diese tolle Attraktion wiederhergestellt haben. Ohne die Energie, die die jungen Leute und auch die Stiftung Jugendhilfe in dieses Projekt investiert haben, hätte man die Rampe nicht wiederherstellen können". (Maximilian Mühlens)

At the opening ceremony the initiators offered a large family celebration. Fans of skate and BMX sports of all ages came to the Rheinaue to see some daring and breathtaking jumps and tricks after years of deprivation. On the "ramp" not only amateurs showed their skills, but also some professionals. Among them, for example, Renton Miller, a professional skater from Australia, who staged an intermediate stop on his European tour in Bonn. With a barbecue, cool drinks and live music from "Steal A Taxi", "The Dirty Sanchez" and "Nerd School", the many visitors were offered a colorful program.
The joy of the new halfpipe was great. "Boah, it has become cool," escaped a young skater, who saw the new skater sports facility for the first time. "It was two very hard years, combined with a lot of work, a lot of phone cleaning and countless sleepless nights," Philipp Nehren reviewed the "Save the Ramp" campaign.
"For the youth, however, we liked to do that," the initiator said. Last November the construction work, which was carried out by the members of the association itself, started. Nehren revealed that the ramp would be a segment construction. "If our club receives money, we can change and expand the ramp as much as possible," says Nehren.
Mayor Jürgen Nimptsch was enthusiastic about the new halfpipe: "It is great, thanks to all who have restored this great attraction - without the energy that the young people and the Jugendhilfe Foundation have invested in this project , You could not have recovered the ramp ". (Maximilian Mühlens)
