They are open daily, from 11 AM to 9 PM. This is a good location, in the old Kow Kamp Steakhouse building, just north of Decatur along US 287. While there are plenty of fast food and other restaurant options in Decatur, Leeper Creek should someday be known as a place to stop when making a long haul along US 287. It's worth a few more minutes of driving. It has a rustic interior, very clean, with plenty of seating, and the service is excellent.

There's a sign pointing you towards the register, where you'll pick up your order. Sandwiches, plates, and by-the-pound are your options, and include brisket (chopped and sliced, and they'll ask if you prefer fatty or lean), ribs, ham, pulled pork, sausage (smoked, jalapeño and cheese, and hot links), chicken, and baked potatoes. Smaller portions are available for lunch, as well as for children and seniors. The sides are homemade, and include fries, cole slaw, Bacon Dijon tater salad, pinto beans, and jalapeño mac and cheese.

Soft drinks and the ubiquitous iced tea are available, and if you plan to have room after your meal, their homemade desserts are fruit salad and vanilla puddin'.
