This pillar is situated within touching distance on the other side of a fence just off the minor road that connects Little Brechin with Edzell. Unlike most of its type in this area this pillar is not on high ground on the summit of a hill, but on low lying level terrain on the edge of a field.
STEEPNESS: Absolutely none.
TERRAIN: No difficulties other than how thick the vegetation is on the verge.
ACCESSIBILITY: Easy, there is space for a vehicle a few yards south-west of the trig.
NAVIGATION: Might be difficult to locate if the verge is overgrown but otherwise an easy spot from the road on a short straight section heading north-west towards Edzell about a mile from where the road ends at a T-junction.
DANGER: Only traffic on the road and a barbed-wire fence that separates the trig from the roadside.
