2017 will mark the 164th anniversary of the Woodstock Farmers' Market.
Back in the mid-1980s I would sell maple syrup with my dad when the market was located downtown. Since 1993 it has been held at the fairgrounds.
The original market began in the Old Town Hall in 1853 until the 1870s. Then, until 1895 the market was located in wooden market sheds. Council decided to replace the wooden sheds with a brick building worthy of a growing industrial city. The market moved from downtown to the Woodstock Fairgrounds in 1993, and is administered by the Woodstock Agricultural Society.
