Cassel Brewery was started in 2012 by three craft beer aficionados. Beer names are mostly railroad related - recognizing their location across the tracks from the heritage train station. Golden Rail Honey Brown Ale, Caboose IPA, Lil' Red Steamer Red Ale, Black Express Stout, and Sleeper Car Double Chocolate Porter are just some of the names of core and seasonal beers that the brewery has created.
On the snowy winter evening I visited I was guided through a tasting of five different beers by the cheery staff person. I walked out with four beers and have enjoyed a couple of them with friends (Station Hop On and Brussel Express Belgian IPA). The other two will bite the dust soon!
