House "Black Lion" in Erfurt
Das Haus zum Schwarzen Löwen ist ein dreigeschossiger Renaissancebau, der 1577 errichtet wurde. Das Gebäude besitzt im Inneren Stuckarbeiten aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Genutzt wurde es als Biereigen- und Waidhändlerhaus und gehörte ab 1605 der Familie Worms. Deren Mitglieder wurden im 16. Jahrhundert viermal zum Obervierherren der Stadt gewählt.
1632 wohnte Maria Eleonora von Brandenburg, Königin von Schweden im Haus zum Schwarzen Löwen, als sie die Nachricht vom Tod Gustav II. Adolfs in der Schlacht bei Lützen erhielt. Gegenüber dem Haus zum Schwarzen Löwen befand sich die frühere Schwanapotheke. Diese war die Wirkungsstätte von Johann Bartholomäus Trommsdorff, er gilt als Begründer der modernen Pharmazie.
Ab 1885 befand sich im Gebäude die Keyser’sche Buchhandlung, deren Nachfolger bis 1992 existierte. Anschließend zogen ein Kiosk sowie ein Blumenladen ein. Seit dem 26. Januar 2007 ist eine Filiale der Restaurantkette Nordsee im Erdgeschoss untergebracht.
The House of the Black Lion is a three-storey Renaissance building built in 1577. The building has stucco work from the 17th century. It was used as a beard and vendor's hut and belonged to the Worms family from 1605 onwards. Its members were elected four times to the city's four-fourths in the 16th century.
In 1632 Maria Eleonora of Brandenburg, Queen of Sweden, lived in the House of the Black Lion, when she received the news of Gustav II Adolf's death in the Battle of Lützen. Opposite the house to the Black Lion was the former Swanpharmacy. This was the activity of Johann Bartholomäus Trommsdorff, he is regarded as the founder of modern pharmacy.
From 1885 the building contained Keyser'sche bookstore, whose successor existed until 1992. Then a kiosk and a florist arrived. Since January 26, 2007, a branch of the
North Sea restaurant has been placed on the ground floor.
