It features the blueish Armidale bricks, Art Deco adornments either side of the year & original windows & doors at street level. The awning is a more recent addition. Overall it is in fine condition. All the shops were leased.
The Uralla Heritage Inventory (
visit link) states of the Central Chambers:
A dominant two storey brick building in the Uralla CBD Streetscape. Constructed in Armidale blue bricks with prominent rendered parapet, it demonstrates the growth of Uralla in the 1920s. It is historically associated with the early pioneering Crapp family, particularly William Crapp, Armidale architect R.N. Hickson and the Uralla building family the Coopers. Streetscape significance arises from the architectural detail and scale of the building.
