[EN] The fishing port of Vauclin is the first fishing port of Martinique. In this commune, nearly 500 people live on fishing income. Approximately 100 fishermen return to the port with nearly 200 tons of fish and shellfish each year.
You can taste local carp, coulirou, carangue, sea bream, marlin, tuna but also sometimes lobsters, catrus (octopus) or conch.
The fishermen sell as well to the restaurants of the island as simple individuals who come to buy fish in the port.
If you wish to buy fish, it is better to go on the quays at the end of the morning (10h-12h) or at the end of the day, early evening (17-19h). Not far from there, a market sells freshly caught fish, crustaceans and vegetables.
To get there go straight to the village of Vauclin and then follow the signs to the port.
