The Pacific Science Center has a glassed in exotic Butterfly house. It features exotic plants, and a circular walk through with a butterfly identifier card. The temperature is kept at 80 degrees, with nearly 80% humidity. So dress in layers!

Throughout the year, the house gets a revolving variety of tropical butterflies and moths, around 100 species altogether. At any time, there may be up to 1,000 butterflies and moths fluttering around inside the house. They discourage egg laying for agriculture reasons, by not planting egg host plants in the house. Once in a while though, they will still find eggs. Instead, they receive chrysalides from butterfly farms in Central America and the Philippines and display them in a window so that guests can watch them hatch. Butterflies and moths are released daily.

Science Center employees are always available for help and information.

This is my favorite spot in the Science Center, I always need to go to it when we visit.

The Pacific Science Center has a blog that is regularly updated. Check it out for more detailed info!
