Unter dem Slogan "Neues Glück in Osnabrück" hat 2005 das 36. Einrichtungshaus von IKEA eröffnet.
Für die neue Filiale sind auf einer Grundstücksfläche von 79.000 Quadratmetern eine Verkaufsfläche von ca. 19.000 Quadratmetern und über 1.300 Parkplätze entstanden. Rund 230 Mitarbeiter werden in Osnabrück beschäftigt sein, zwölf Auszubildende zum Kaufmann/-frau im Einzelhandel starten in den nächsten drei Jahren ihre Ausbildung. Die Investitionskosten für das Haus betrugen ca. 50 Mio. Euro.
