The second floor of the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum contains an exact reconstruction Dr. Seuss' living room in La Jolla, California, complete with original furnishings. On display on the left wall are the two Primetime Emmys Awards he received. Both are for television programs based on his characters. One is for Halloween is Grinch Night (1978) for Outstanding Animated Program on September 17, 1978 and the other for The Grinch Grinches the Cat In The Hat (1982) for Outstanding Children's Special on September 19, 1982.

The room can only be view from the outside of an entrance barrier; but the Emmy closest to the entrance is clearly visible. The second Emmy is farther back and mostly obscured by a wall hanging.
