The Alyth Golf Club was established on September 19th 1894 with a nine hole course built by Old Tom Morris in the countryside east of the town the following year.

James Braid laid out the current eighteen holes in 1934. The course undulates through pines, birch and heather to a par of 70. There are four short holes and two par fives which both occur on the back nine.

The club lies on the B954 road in the extreme east of the county, near the border with Angus. The club recently acquired nine holes from the Glenisla course on the opposite side of the road.
