A l’entrée du chenal, on trouve une énorme statue : La Statue de l’Espérance.
Cette statue a été réalisée par l’artiste Ali Salem. Elle est faite entièrement en bronze et mesure 3,6m de haut. Elle représente une femme, cheveux au vent, tenant par la main sa petite fille, le regard tourné vers le large. Installé le 8 mars 2014, elle se veut être un hommage à toutes les femmes de Camargue.
At the entrance to the channel is an enormous statue: The Statue of Hope.
This statue was made by artist Ali Salem. It is made entirely of bronze and measures 3.6m high. She represents a woman, with her hair in the wind, holding her little girl by the hand, her eyes turned towards the open sea. Installed on March 8, 2014, it is intended to be a tribute to all the women of the Camargue.
