Around the top of the 'circular' wall are many plaques pertaining to the history of Bathurst. Then embedded into the brick pavers is a concrete block, with a cast bronze plaque.
The plaque for the Time Capsule states:
TIME CAPSULE
To commemorate the Civic Centenary year 1985 a
capsule containing messages from the people of
Bathurst has been buried under this plaque, to be
raised on the 7th May, 2035 A.D.
