This red telephone box is situated outside Monikie Memorial Hall just south of the village of the same name, in rural Angus six miles north-east of the city of Dundee.
Like many other boxes, it was in a dilapidated state until Monikie & Newbigging Community Council bought the box from BT for the sum of £1. Now a faded pinkish colour, it was repainted the proper colour (Currant Red), and turned into an information kiosk with a notice board inside. The box is now adorned with the words 'Community' and 'Information', and has a poppy motif decorating the windows.
It can be found on the B961 road at the top of Defind Brae in front of the hall at the junction of Panmure Road.
