In 1820 Wilhelm Ernst Graf zur Lippe-Biesterfeld (*15. April 1777; †8. Januar 1840) acquired the area within the monastery walls. He established an English park under inclusion of the ruin on the property.
In 1840 he instructed the construction of a mausoleum according to the model of a neo-Gothic forest chapel. The facade bases on draughts of the Cologne cathedral master builder E. F. Zwirner.
For the construction latite from Stenzelberg was used.
The mausoleum has a sharp gable on which a cross is located. Two slender towers are on the corners of the building which remind of the Cologne Cathedral. Above the door there is the coat of arms of the family zur Lippe-Biesterfeld.
