The stained glass window commemorates Capt. William Halsted Poole of the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers who died at the storming of Sebastopol in September 1855.
The five light window depicts Christ and St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John.
The inscription at the bottom of the window reads as follows;
" IN MEMORY OF WILLM HALSTED POOLE CAPT 23RD ROYAL WELCH FUSILIERS WHO FELL AT THE/ STORMING OF SEBASTOPOL SEPT 8TH 1855. THIS WINDOW IS ERECTED BY THE FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS OF HIS FAMILY."
Capt. William Halsted Poole 1835 - 1855 was the son of Capt. William Halsted Poole 1793 - 1859. (

His father served in the campaigns of 1814 and 1815 including the bombardment of the French Fleet at Antwerp and the battle of Waterloo.
He was a magistrate for Cheshire and Salop and a Deputy Lieutenant of Salop.
