The sign for #1 Memorial Rose Garden reads:
"History
"The memorial Rose Gardens were established in June 2000, after an idea of Mrs Nellie Melba Welsh of Nowa Nowa.
"Once the first garden was ready for planting, it was filled with 63 roses in a fortnight, mush to the amazement of the dedicated band of workers.
Regular working bees have been held over the years, to keep the rose bed well tended." With a 'map' of where the particular type of rose, and who it is commemorating indicated.
The protected sign for #2 Memorial Rose Garden reads:
"History
"The Memorial Rose Gardens have been created by volunteers and the generosity of local businesses, with all materials and work donated.
"The roses were purchased by the families of the departed loved one, or at the time by the members of the Nowa Nowa Community Health Centre Auxiliary members.
"Volunteers pruned annually until 2010, when Kilmany Care chaps took over much to the appreciation of the original members"
Many of the roses were in bloom, so a few photos were taken.
