County of crossing: Callaway County
Location of crossing: MO-94, about ½ mile E. of Mokane

Cruseing down MO-94, headed for the supposed site of an old AME church (African Methodist Episcopal) I spotted this little guy frozen in the highway.
I blocked the highway with my car, got out, took the shy fellows photo and air lifted him to the grass (of course in the same direction he was already going).

This little guy is so young he has yet to acquire the color on his shell, the small markings were there...but almost no color.
And yes, he is a Three-Toed, not a Common Box turtle...
