At the western end of the church the font consists of a massive 'rude stone' bowl probably dating from the 12th or 13th century, which may be from an earlier church on this site.
The church itself was built around 1450, with extensive rennovations in 1821 - 1824 by the then Lord of the Manor, John Mayne, adding south porch and vestry and the first two sections of the church tower.
