As the strawberries at Gateways are grown inside, (out of the cold and rain) you won't need to put on your gumboots, and while there are some 'slow times', they will have strawberries year round.
When there in May, 2016, you could pick your own strawberries for $7/kg! They also had outdoor picking of apples for $1.50/kg.
And, if you want to indulge a sweeter tooth, they have a cafe where you can buy a desert or other treat.
