This interesting field gun on a concrete monument was presented to the people of Jaileyville OK as a token of appreciation for their support of the US during WWI.
A plaque on the side of the cannon's monument reads as follows:
"AS a tribute of appreciation for the loyal support given the Government of the United States of America throughout the duration of the World War, this gun is presented to the people of HAILEYVILLE OKLAHOMA by the War Department
Decoration Day
1919"
